This community is such an important part of our family’s lives and so I want to do all I can to help raise money for this wonderful preschool, One World Project. Shiloh could not love a place more now that she is settled in as an inaugural member of “Arroyo,” the OWP babies class, and Ezra keeps up his Spanish while being in a loving play based space every day after school. OWP is such a truly special place and we could not imagine a better community for our family to be a part of. The school is a Spanish immersion program, which is amazing in itself, putting our children on the path to being bilingual and getting our whole family to regularly speak in Spanish. But it is so much more. Ezra and now Shiloh are learning and exploring and having so much fun every day. It feels really important that the school continues in our community for many years to come, particularly now as they embark on the construction of a community center as their forever home. Our kids are confident in themselves (Shiloh may be TOO confident, ask to see a swimming video of her if you have doubts) while their curiosity grows. Ezra continues to find and hones his own interests, and Shilohs personality is blossoming into view. They really LOVE their teachers at OWP and they love my kids! I am also running to have the chance to spend more time with the OWP community, by going on group runs with parents I know and meeting some I don’t. And after running last year, this is a great motivation to get my running fitness back to where it was! Please give whatever you can. Anything you donate will help to close the funding gap between what the DOE gives OWP to run this amazing program and what it actually costs. This will ensure One World Project can continue to offer children joyful learning experiences, expose them to thoughtful and exciting bilingual learning, pay its teachers fair wages for their amazing work, and empower students!
On Saturday, March 15 we’ll be running or walking the Brooklyn Spring Half, 10K, 5K a wonderful event that will allow all our team to pick the race that is best for them.
Friday, April 25 is La Vuelta. We’ll gather at One World Project and the kids (and some grownups) will run or walk or scoot along Vanderbilt, down East 4th, up, along Greenwood Avenue, and up East 3rd. We’ll end the race with a party with upcycled medals for all participants. In Spanish, la vuelta means loop, like the one we’ll do around the block. Vuelta also means return. If your children have grown and you are no longer part of our preschool or after school program please consider La Vuelta an invitation to return to OWP for a visit. We would love to see you!
On Sunday, April 27 we will join half marathoners for NYC Runs, an epic running journey.
With love and care we have built a nurturing school and community center committed to learning. We want to sustain what makes OWP so special and grow our community fund so that OWP is accessible to more families. Together we’ll be working to raise $60,000 to support OWP.
We truly appreciate anything you are able to give.
