Go Isla and Suvi!
Yay Isla and Suvi!
Have a fun run. Good for you! Love you, Nana and Pop-pop
Go girls!
Hi Isla and Suvi. Love, Aunt Cathy and Uncle Joe ❤️
Go Isla and Suvi!!
Isla and Suvi are running the LA VUELTA Fun Run on Friday, April 25th to raise money for One World Project and we hope you’ll join us in supporting their efforts! One World Project is a Spanish language immersion school in our neighborhood in Brooklyn that focuses on community, caring, and cultivating understanding through multilingualism. Isla and Suvi are graduates of the preschool at OWP and are currently students in their after school program. Isla and Suvi love their time at the school and have formed wonderful relationships with the amazing teachers, made lasting friendships with children of all different levels of Spanish-speaking, and created countless memories playing in the school’s garden and cooking recipes in the classroom. We are so grateful OWP exists, and want to do everything we can to make sure all families regardless of economic background are able to experience this unique approach to learning and nurturing community at OWP. Your support will not only give Isla and Suvi the motivation to run, walk or scoot across the finish line, but will directly benefit OWP’s Scholarship Fund and help close the funding gap for the Universal Pre-K program to make the school accessible to more families.
On Saturday, March 15 we’ll be running or walking the Brooklyn Spring Half, 10K, 5K a wonderful event that will allow all our team to pick the race that is best for them.
Friday, April 25 is La Vuelta. We’ll gather at One World Project and the kids (and some grownups) will run or walk or scoot along Vanderbilt, down East 4th, up, along Greenwood Avenue, and up East 3rd. We’ll end the race with a party with upcycled medals for all participants. In Spanish, la vuelta means loop, like the one we’ll do around the block. Vuelta also means return. If your children have grown and you are no longer part of our preschool or after school program please consider La Vuelta an invitation to return to OWP for a visit. We would love to see you!
On Sunday, April 27 we will join half marathoners for NYC Runs, an epic running journey.
With love and care we have built a nurturing school and community center committed to learning. We want to sustain what makes OWP so special and grow our community fund so that OWP is accessible to more families. Together we’ll be working to raise $60,000 to support OWP.
We truly appreciate anything you are able to give.
