Go Vio!!
We are very proud of you. Nonno y YaYa
Violeta is raising money again for her beloved preschool, where she still goes to Afterschool a few days a week to play and learn and make endless works of art with her best friends and her favorite teacher from the 2s and 3s program.
The race for kids is called La Vuelta, which means “to go around” because they’ll be running around the block of the preschool as part of a running effort.
“It’s so short!” she exclaimed about the upcoming race this year as a big kindergartener, and she LOVES to run, but she has fond memories of doing over 10 laps on her scooter at age 3 so we’ll see how she takes on the challenge this year!
There are many important causes to give to in our current state of affairs, but if you have the means, please consider giving to one of our pages. Supporting this early education program that is dedicated to building an inclusive community of learners where everyone feels respected and loved feels more crucial than ever.
Gracias from my family and many others!
On Saturday, March 15 we’ll be running or walking the Brooklyn Spring Half, 10K, 5K a wonderful event that will allow all our team to pick the race that is best for them.
Friday, April 25 is La Vuelta. We’ll gather at One World Project and the kids (and some grownups) will run or walk or scoot along Vanderbilt, down East 4th, up, along Greenwood Avenue, and up East 3rd. We’ll end the race with a party with upcycled medals for all participants. In Spanish, la vuelta means loop, like the one we’ll do around the block. Vuelta also means return. If your children have grown and you are no longer part of our preschool or after school program please consider La Vuelta an invitation to return to OWP for a visit. We would love to see you!
On Sunday, April 27 we will join half marathoners for NYC Runs, an epic running journey.
With love and care we have built a nurturing school and community center committed to learning. We want to sustain what makes OWP so special and grow our community fund so that OWP is accessible to more families. Together we’ll be working to raise $60,000 to support OWP.
We truly appreciate anything you are able to give.
