Hi! My daughter Luisa attends the afterschool program at One World Project. The school is such an inviting and warm place. Luisa brings home creative art projects on a daily basis and participates in rewarding community-based activities. Even their fundraising is thoughtful. My training for the half has inspired Luisa’s athleticism and bonded our family in new ways. I am running to raise funds for the OWP universal pre-k program. It is so important that schools like One World, which specialize in early childhood education, be supported.
On Sunday, January 7 at noon we’ll brave the cold at Coney Island and jump in the ocean for our Bano Polar to support OWP.
On Friday, May 3 as part of our Half Weekend. We’ll gather at One World Project and the kids (and some grownups) will run or walk or scoot along Vanderbilt, down East 3rd, up, along Greenwood Avenue, and up East 4th. We’ll end the race with a celebration and everyone will get an upcycled medal of participation.
On Saturday, May 4 we will join half marathoners for an epic running journey.
The route starts at the 69th Street Pier and goes along the Hudson river just under the Verrazano Bridge in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn.
With love and care we have built a nurturing school and community center committed to learning. We want to sustain what makes OWP so special and grow our community fund so that OWP is accessible to more families. Together we’ll be working to raise $60,000 to support OWP.
We truly appreciate anything you are able to give.
